About Us


Mark Gensler

Zymo was created in 2018 by Mark Gensler whilst working with The Little Bread Pedlar in Bermondsey, London.

Mark was formerly a financial software consultant, later moving into web development and running LBP's bakery operations.

After a period of growth it became necessary to upgrade to something more robust than spreadsheets, paper notes and email services. It needed to automate weekly/standing orders, customer invoicing, packing slips and manage delivery routes. It had to be user-friendly enough for bakers to use intuitively, shouldn't require enterprise-level IT infrastructure/knowledge and had to work well on laptops, tablets and phones.

Nothing could be found that fit the bill, so the next thing to do was: build it!

Since then a host of functionality has been added, including recipes & daily production sheets, nutritional information, reporting and third-party integration APIs. Now many more bakeries around the United Kingdom and beyond depend on Zymo for their bakery management, 365 days a year.
